Past Performances at The Boxcar

Artistic programming at The Boxcar began in late summer of 2018. We’ve been lucky to host a wide range of artists and styles in our space, working toward our mission of telling stories of shared humanity and everyday truths through multidisciplinary modes of performance, while fostering a sense of artistic exploration and experimentation, bringing artists and audiences together in an intimate setting. Here is a comprehensive database of the events we’ve presented.

Visual Artists

Peter Broitman

November 11 - January 11

Peter began painting full time in 2012 after thirty-one years working as a trial attorney for the United States Department of Labor. His father was a painter (figurative and abstract) who went to Cooper Union Art School in the late 1930s. Peter grew up in a house filled with his father’s paintings and his teenage and young adult years were spent discussing art and the artistic process with him. After his father passed away too early in 1984, Peter continued his discussions about art and the artistic process with his daughters who are artists in their own right.
