Dear Friend,

On Friday, November 20th, construction crews arrived on the scene at 1044 West Berwyn to begin building the new Steep Theatre, and let me tell you, it was a joyous sight to behold. All of the time, energy, and resources our community so generously invested in this project began to take shape and - without too much squinting - you could catch a glimpse of Steep’s bright, bright future. We are on our way home and I am overwhelmingly grateful to everyone who helped bring us to this moment. On behalf of all of Steep, thank you.

Now the fun begins. We are setting the stage for an unforgettable inaugural season in our new home. Soon, Steep will be back full-time doing what it does best - producing the type of bold, breathtaking theater that has defined this company for the last 25 years. We will be back creating conversations and building community in a home specifically designed to elevate the artist-audience relationship both on- and off-stage. I am writing today to ask for your support as we put the final pieces in place to fill this new building with art and joy in the year ahead. 

There’s a laundry list of ways you can contribute to the magic at Steep. A gift today will help secure the rights to thrilling new plays and pay to print those scripts. It will help dress our actors and dress our stages. It will set the table with cheese and crackers for Steep’s famed post-show receptions and the unique opportunities they provide for artists and audiences to engage in conversation. Most importantly, it will support the artists and staff who make Steep what it is.
