Melissa Riemer
When I think about it, I realize my life has been full of moves and changes. I was born in Memphis, grew up in a small town in Arkansas, moved to the suburbs of Chicago, graduated from Prospect High School and attended college in Virginia. After graduating, I moved back to Chicago where I met my husband, got married and we raised our two daughters. When our daughters were small, we were transferred to London because of my husband's job. We lived there three years before returning to Chicago.
I had acted a lot in high school and college and missed it so, at that point, I started taking acting classes at night. I took classes for several years and decided to pursue professional acting. I landed my first professional role and two months later, we were transferred back to London. I then attended the Drama Studio London for full-time training for one year. After graduation, I acted in London for a year before we returned to Chicago. For the past ten years, I have been acting in Chicago.
I love the friends I have made through the theatre. I love the challenge and exhilaration of acting. And, most of all, I love my husband and daughters (now grown) for their endless support through all of this. And thank you to Steep for asking me to be in the ensemble. I am so excited to be at the dance! |
